In late 2020, my mother passed away. She was my earliest creative inspiration and teacher. Mom put me in front of a sewing machine, handed me a crochet hook, helped me draw, and filled every home she had with color and texture. She never got to see my studio, or any of this artwork, but she’s in every piece I make.
This mixed-media piece contains two of my photographs, fabric, ribbon, beads, and a recycled frame. My sister has it in her home.
